부산대학교 언론사 채널PNU는 이 ‘부마민주항쟁 45주년 기념 플레이리스트’를 듣는 여러분이 당시 독재 정부에 저항하며 청춘을 바쳤던 선배들을 떠올리기를 바라는 마음으로 노래를 선곡했습니다. 어두운 과거를 딛고 밝은 미래를 향해 나아갈 것이라는 들국화의 ‘행진’부터 부마민주항쟁 기념 헌정 교향곡인 ‘동트는 새벽벌’까지, 이 노래를 듣는 여러분에게 당시 부산대학교 선배들이 느꼈던 민주화를 향한 고뇌부터 희망의 감정이 곧게 전달되기를 바랍니다.

부마민주항쟁이란 1979년 10월 16일부터 20일까지 일어난 대한민국의 민주화운동을 말합니다. 45년 전인 1979년 10월, 부산대학교는 “유신 철폐!” “독재타도!”를 외치는 학생들의 목소리로 가득 찼습니다. 이들은 당시 독재 정부에 맞서며 자유와 민주 그리고 정의를 요구했습니다. 이러한 학생들의 교내 시위는 유신체제를 무너뜨린 민주항쟁으로 확산되었습니다. 부마민주항쟁은 부산 시내 중심가부터 경상남도 마산까지 퍼진 ‘시민항쟁’이었습니다.

The BUMA (Busan-Masan) Democratic Uprising was a democratic movement that occurred from October 16th to 20th, 1979, in the Busan and Masan regions, opposing the Yushin system during the late period of Park Chung-Hee's government. On October 16th, Pusan National University (PNU), led by Jeong Gwang-Min from the Department of Economics, confronted the dictatorial government at the time, shouting "Abolish Yushin!" and "Down with dictatorship!" This movement, which spread from PNU, was a "citizens' uprising" that extended from the center of Busan city to Masan in South Gyeongsang Province.
